Pseudo, that is WAY weird. I have seen a school of sharks (if a "school" is the correct term for a bunch of 'em) about 100 feet from the beach at Gulf Shores, Alabama.
That was way weird. To see one come up and make land is really creepy. It happens, I know. I remember a couple of years ago, a high school football coach got his leg chopped off by one while standing waist deep in The Gulf.
But, that kind of stuff is so rare as to be...well...so rare.
Never seen one beach themselves, and turn back out.
Hope your daughter has a lovely trip. Tell her to just tan in a rented recliner...and that salt water is bad for the skin.
